WINWIND DELIVERS FOUR WIND TURBINES TO HAMINA ENERGY

19 Oct, 2011

Winwind Ltd and Hamina Energy Ltd have signed a contract to deliver four wind turbines to Hamina Energy in Finland.  The turbines will be located near the existing Summa wind park and in the vicinity of the port of Hamina.  The four turbines are of the WinWinD 3 type, which is a new turbine with a rated power of 3 MW. The rotor diameter of the turbines will be 120 metres, which is one of the biggest sizes in the Finnish market today. The nacelles will be manufactured in WinWinD’s own plant in Hamina.

”This delivery is a very important phase for WinWinD in bringing a new product into the market. This contract shows that our new wind turbine, which is based on an integrated product solution, is very competitive also in the demanding conditions of Finland”, says Aarne Luukko, VP, Business Development, Finland.

“This deal is one of the key milestones in our product development, and has been made possible from the trust, confidence and support from our valued customer, Hamina Energy.  We at WinWinD consider this deal with Hamina Energy, as very valuable and helps fortify and increase our market presence in Finland”, says Guru Vijendran, Managing Director, WinWinD.

“This is a logical step for Hamina Energy, who has intensively developed wind power and invested in it. We want to be the forerunners of Finnish wind power also in the future. Good experience in our cooperation with WinWinD in the past is an important reason for signing the contract with a Finnish turbine manufacturer.  The installation of the turbines will start next year depending on the permission procedures”, states Timo Toikka, Managing Director of Hamina Energy.

After this delivery project Hamina Energy will have totally nine wind turbines delivered by WinWinD.
