WinWinD's manufacturing facility at Vengal, India turns “one”!

WinWinD India’s manufacturing facility at Vengal, Tamil Nadu, inaugurated on 07 September 2009 by Dr. Farooq Abdullah - Hon. Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy resources, turns one today.

WinWinD is Siva Group’s Wind Energy venture headquartered in Finland with offices in India, Sweden and Estonia. The Indian subsidiary was established in 2007 and a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility was established at Vengal a year back.

This facility is one of Asia's largest manufacturing units producing wind turbines from one single location. The assembly and production of WWD1 (1MW) wind turbines for installations in the Asia Pacific belt is catered to by this unit. It houses the assembly unit for WWD1 nacelle, rotor blade mould and rotor blade manufacturing unit on 65,000 sq. m. of production area.

The factory is designed for an annual production capacity in excess of 1,000MW. The state-of-the-art facility can support the assembly and manufacture of multi megawatt wind turbines as well
