WWD-1
WWD-1 is a 1 MW turbine suitable for areas with challenging logistical conditions (mountains, islands, etc.) and / or environmentally size-limited areas with rotor diameter of 60 m. The turbine provides high energy yields especially at lower wind speed sites.
WinWinD's medium speed concept and integrated power unit ensure the reliability of our wind turbines.
What is WWD-1?
WWD-1 is a pitch regulated upwind wind turbine with active yaw and three-blade rotor. The turbine consist of three main parts:
- Rotor - 3 blades and hub with electrical pitch control
- Integrated power unit - Two row tapered roller bearing, planetary gear and variable speed generator with permanent magnets
- Nacelle - Frequency converter and accessories
+ Tower - Transformer and accessories
WWD advantages
-
30% less moving parts than traditional geared system
-
Loads bypass gears and generators
-
Low maintenance cost
-
Ideal for low wind speed sites
