Proven technology

WinWinD was the first in the world to introduce a hybrid medium speed turbine, and the company has delivered 3 megawatt turbines since 2004. Today WinWinD has a strong position and experience in multi megawatt wind power solutions. Our technology combines the reliability of a direct drive and the compactness of a traditional high speed gear system. Optimal mechanical load management ensures high reliability and availability as well as low maintenance costs, while full power frequency converters ensure maximal grid compliancy. As an example of ongoing innovation, WinWinD has delivered the first successfully performing ice prevention solution to ensure continuous operation in arctic conditions. WinWinD turbines are type certified and manufactured according to ISO 9001 standards. Each turbine goes through rigorous testing before leaving the factory.

Benefit Technology
Reliable By using an integrated power unit, comprising the main bearing, planetary gearbox and permanent magnet synchronous generator, high speed gear components are eliminated. The main bearing transfers the harmful rotor loads directly to the main casing of the supporting structure, keeping the whole drive train free from deformation.
Productive Utilisation of a variable speed pitch controlled rotor and energy optimised blades with large rotor diameters maximises energy capture even in low wind speed sites. A permanent magnet synchronous generator provides the highest efficiency at partial and rated power.
Superior grid performance Utilising a permanent magnet synchronous generator, full power frequency converters and sophisticated pitch control system, WinWinD turbines fulfil the most demanding grid code requirements.
